Frequently Asked Questions about Sincerely Sessions

What is needed to reserve our spot?

A non-refundable retainer of $100 is needed to reserve your session. The remaining balance is due at the time of the shoot. At this time I do not take credit cards….. but hopefully will come November.

What if we need to reschedule?

There is a one time reschedule option due to emergencies or sickness. After that if a rescheduling needs to happen, there will be a $75 change fee.

How long does the session last?

I say between 1-2 hours… but I clear my whole morning or evening so that if we’re having fun shooting or it takes some time to get to some favorite locations  then we can be relaxed and not worried about the time.

I also like capturing different scenes in your family life… sometimes that looks like dinner prep, eating and then getting ready for bed…. other times that might look like meeting up with the grandparents for breakfast out somewhere and the park afterwards.  We can get really creative and also tailor it to fit your family best.

Will we get a posed smiling photo all together?

I don’t promise a certain pose in any of my sessions. But I do love smiles… and I think over the time I’m with your family will capture plenty of them!! 🙂

Can we get a Christmas card photo out of the session?

I would LOVE for you to use a photo from your session to create a Christmas card. The reason I say that I’m not your typical Christmas card photographer is that my aim in shooting your family isn’t to end up with one perfect pose that will go on your Christmas card this year. My hope is to showcase your love for one another and I think those kind of images make the BEST Christmas cards!!!

What if we don’t live in the DFW area?

No problem. If you’re visiting, let’s shoot you visiting with friends and relatives.  Or maybe we could visit some of your favorite spots in the DFW area, a farm, a favorite restaurant, a garden nearby, invite your friends or family and you can get great images of your family while getting to spend time with those who matter most in your life.

If you live outside this area and want me to come to you then email me  {[at] } and we can see if we can work something out.

How long will the online gallery be up for?

The gallery will be up for a year.  The Print credit will be available for the first 3 months and after that will be void if not used. I highly recommend the purchase of the digital negatives. That way they can be kept for always on a number of computers and safe spots.

H0w long will it take to get our photos back?

I allow 4-6 weeks for full processing and printing.  Once you have your gallery up prints can be ordered and shipped to you in just a few days.

What kind of locations and activities can we do outside our home?

You name it. Parks, Theme Parks, Sports games, Farmers Market, Breakfast…lunch…dinner… wherever!! Picnics. Swimming Pool. Rodeo. Farms. Gardens. Ranch. Horseback riding. Football games. State Fair. Ballet Recital. Train stations……

I love capturing togetherness. So, whatever you enjoy doing together…. let’s preserve those moments for always.

Would you shoot my child’s birthday party or a family get together with extended family?

Absolutely. What a great time of togetherness. Let me know what you have in mind and we can see if we can tailor a session around such a unforgettable event.

What should I wear? What should we bring or have ready for the shoot?

Wear what is YOU!!!  If matchy matchy is you… then bring on the co-ordinating outfits. If everyone has their own unique style… go with it. If you want to run a few ideas by me, I’m always glad to offer my suggestions.

If you have little ones… make sure they have access to their favorite toys, books, blankies and favorite things. If you have older kids, have them grab and few things that they love right now and that maybe illustrate their personality… cell phones, games, sports, best friends, drawings, talents.

If you have a favorite couch that you all pile on, we can shoot that in your home… or hey, bring it along and we’ll put it in a field and have everyone pile on for a sunny fun image. As you can tell, I’m game for whatever is fun and unique for your family.

But DON’T feel like your home has to be perfectly spotless. Don’t try to create a sterile environment to shoot in. BE TRUE to what your home is like 99% of the time. That’s what your children will come to love and miss once they are grown.

DON’T feel like you have to have a huge nice house to shoot in… we live in a very cozy apartment and while I would love a bigger space, I know this is just right for our family right now and that one day…. I will miss this closeness and even the craziness that we have as a family of little ones. So, I make it a point to shoot my home as it is right now…. because it’s the place where my kids run up and down the halls, it’s the place where my little ones are learning how to draw…. sometimes on actual paper. 😉  It’s where memories are being made, lessons are being learned and love is being fostered…  It’s HOME!
