Dan and I were able to get away to Dallas for the night before he went back to work for the school year. We had SO much fun. We went to the top of Reunion Tower and ate appetizers for dinner (that’s the revolving restaurant that makes the Dallas skyline so pretty!) Kristin met us there and we had a blast! Then we checked into the Sheraton that we had booked through Hotwire… and after 3 room changes the AC wasn’t cutting it and no matter what we had a warm stale room. NO WAY! I mean, if you’re like me, part of the delight of a hotel room is cranking that air and making it really cold so you can snuggle with those huge down comforters! 🙂 So, Thanks to Hotwire’s awesome customer service, they moved us to the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek… Oh My, we were blown away by this hotel. It was Amazing!!! Probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. So we were happy campers! Then we headed out and grabbed dessert at Trulucks who has the BEST Carrot Cake (other than my Mother-in-Love’s) and Illy’s French Press. Woke up the next day and Had a huge buffet breakfast courtesy of the Sheraton (they really tried to make us happy but it wasn’t anything they could fix) and then Back to the hotel for a swim and sun basking. We went and got Pedicures (Yes, Dan got one too!! He loves a serious foot massage!! Of course I was the only one who left with a cute color on her toes… but It was a totally relaxing hour spent together with just each other and my People Magazine and Dan’s Wall Street Journal. 🙂 Then to Grimaldi’s for Lunch/Supper. We ate here on our honeymoon in Brooklyn… and were so excited to find they opened one here in Dallas. 🙂 (and they give you a free pizza for your birthday so thanks to Dan’s birthday being on Monday we had a really cheap but wonderful meal!!) We finished up the day back in Fort Worth getting Gelato at Central Market. What a Wonderful Getaway with the Love of my Life!!!
